Mart Rodger Manchester Jazz
Delighting new fans and old friends everywhere with their happy and infectious blend of traditional New Orleans & Dixieland jazz, Mart Rodger Manchester Jazz was inspired by a trip to Bourbon Street in 1982 where Mart sat in with the resident band.
Taking their cues from the early New Orleans and Chicago jazz musicians - as well as from the great British jazz revivalists of the 40s and 50s – the band works as a team to ensure that every player contributes to the balance, beauty and excitement of the ensemble.
The band has played on cruise ships and all over the world and Humphrey Lyttelton, Marion Montgomery and many others have shared in their wonderful jazz evenings. Today, in order to satisfy their many fans, the band now gives performances in the afternoon.
